Welcome to Shutr. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
Who can use Shutr
You must be at least 18 years old to use Shutr. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account.
What Shutr is for
Shutr is a welcoming place to share photos and captures from your life, and follow accounts you enjoy. We're not against AI — Shutr is simply a place to share photos from your life. We don’t run AI detectors or ban edited photos — the product is simply focused on sharing pictures from your life, not viral churn.
That means phone snaps, camera rolls, and film scans are the natural fit here. Spam, harassment, and illegal use are still not welcome.
Your content
- You keep ownership of photos and text you post.
- You grant Shutr permission to host, display, and process your content so the service can work (feed, profiles, messages, captures).
- JPEG feed posts may include camera metadata (EXIF) extracted from the file — e.g. camera model, lens, and exposure settings — which we store and may show to logged-in viewers. We do not extract GPS from photos. Strip EXIF before upload if you do not want that data stored or displayed. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Post only content you have the right to share. Do not upload others’ private images without permission.
Not allowed
- No adult or explicit sexual content.
- Illegal content, threats, hate speech, or harassment.
- Malware, phishing, or dangerous links (we block known bad URLs in comments and messages).
- Impersonation, spam, or automated abuse.
- Attempts to access other users’ accounts or private data.
Moderation
We may review, remove, or restrict content and accounts that break these terms. Moderators may approve or reject posts. Banned accounts lose access immediately.
Privacy & feed controls
Your feed preferences (mute, see less, block) are private — other users are not notified when you use them. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect (including security logs such as IP address on signup, login, and uploads) and how we use it.
Service changes
We may update features or these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date.
Disclaimer
Shutr is provided “as is” without warranties. We are not liable for user-generated content or outages beyond what applicable law requires.
